New to Me in August

Welcome to this month's link party where we celebrate the successes and failures of trying something new.

This month, I had the excitement of my first-ever project published in a magazine, and not just any magazine but the fabulous Fat Quarterly magazine no less!

Now that was definitely a successful New to Me :)

I have also discovered a great new tool for tracing patterns

and finished my first ever traditional Sashiko embroidery piece and even managed to turn it into something useful at the same time. Now that is a new experience :)

So, now it is your turn to share all the fascinating things that you have been up to this month. As ever please help to spread the word by linking back to this post in your post and/or adding the blog button to your sidebar.

The link will remain open until 23.59GMT on August 31st, so you have plenty of time to try something new and link up and join the party :)

  3. Some lovely projects Fiona and great news about the magazine article - Chris :D

  4. Joining in the linky party this month with a "new to me crafts fair entry". Thanks for hosting.

  5. so good to read you are in print, congratulations. Fascinated with the tool you have shared today any chance of more details, what is is called, who makes it, where can I purchase it etc. The cushion is a real beauty

  6. That is definitely a great month of NEW - especially the publishing coup :D That's a cool little tracing stylus - I like the end on it - it looks like one of the tools from a woodworking set I used to have (I bought it for polymer clay, actually, lol) - I'll have to check to see if I still have the set because that looks like it would really work well for tracing, lol! I have a Something New to post, that involves a rather unfortunate pressing faux pas - who knew that paper towels could melt? LOL!

  7. Yea! Love the Fat Quarterly Mag..... Let me remind you again how inspiring you are to me :) Very cute little clutch with sweet little embroidered flowers. And what exactly is that new tool ?

  8. Beautiful projects as always. So excited for you for your publication. Congratulations again.

  9. That was a pretty good 'new' thing for you this month!

My new to me was the Prym pliers for eyelet setting. I ended up using my scrapbooking tool to set the things!

  10. Congratulations Fiona! I am so happy for you!
