It's the 25th of the month again so time to check out what you have all been doing that is New to You in March.
My list of New to Me activities this month is very brief, only one!
My first attempt at Sashiko, with Perle thread on dotty linen. I really enjoyed making this pouch and have been looking at my dotty fabric stash in a whole new light ever since :)
The pouch was also another project for the Ho,Ho,Ho and on We Sew link party.
This month the party is being hosted by Karen, with a great giveaway from Fluffy Sheep Quilting for linkers and to misquote Effie Trinket from the Hunger Games if you link up a project this month "the odds are very much in your favour!".
Now it is your turn to link up your New to You activities.
As ever please help to spread the word by linking back to this post in your post and/or adding the blog button to your sidebar.
Check out the other links and leave a comment along the way. The emphasis of this link party is to celebrate the trying of something new, whether it works out exactly as planned or not, so a little encouragement here and there would not go amiss!
The link will remain open until 23.59GMT on March 31st, so if you have plenty of time to try something new and link up and join the party :)
I wish I had time to try something new : )
ReplyDeleteI had a plan this month to try several small projects I had either pinned, or found tutorials for, or bought patterns for. I did get several cute things done but will have to find the camera and get pictures :) I'll also have to take a picture of the shark hood that went awry - not sure if the "scale problem" will show in a picture, but it's a definite candidate for a REDO, lolllllllllll.
ReplyDeletehave to own up to nothing completed the little pouch is nice and the perle shows up your sashiko very well I love the perle threads use them more than any others
ReplyDeleteI keep meaning to have a go at more hand embroidery, even if only because it means I could sit in the same room as hubby in the evenings (wouldn't he be pleased!?!), but I never seem to get 'round to it. Your Sashiko is gorgeous, it looks like you're an expert already! Perhaps this could be the push I need to get my hand sewing out, thanks x
ReplyDeleteLove what you have done on the bag.
ReplyDeleteYou Sashiko looks great on that pouch. I forgot all about Christmas sewing this month. I must make amends or I'll regret it come November. I'm hoping to link up here in the next couple of days :)
ReplyDeleteGood job on the Sashiko. It's on my 'one of these days' list!
ReplyDeletethis may be my favorite make of your this month! {say that 5x fast :) }
ReplyDeleteYour Sashiko looks perfect! This pouch is just adorable ( love dotty fabric) . I have to admit there are no new finishes for me this month :( March was a slow month creative wise.
ReplyDeleteLove the pouch that you made! Definitely worth making some more from your dotty fabric stash :) x
ReplyDeleteI think that's two months in a row with nothing new attempted. Better get my act together! Can I use the excuse that I've been away for 10 days... LOL!!!
