Giveaway Day

Yay! It is the Sew Mama Sew giveaway day today, a chance to find lots of new blogs and maybe win a goodie or two along the way.


If you are new to my little corner of Blogland welcome I hope to see you again when the flurry of blog-reading that is giveaway day has passed :)

I am always on the look out for new things to try so on the 25th of every month I host a Link party to celebrate the trying with my fellow bloggers. If you like to turn your hand to new things, whether they turn out successfully or not come join us and share your experiences so that we can all learn together.



I have a very festive giveaway for you today. Before we moved back to the UK from Latvia last year, I took the opportunity to stock up on lots of lovely linens and linen/cotton blends as I knew I might never get the chance again. One of my favourite linen shops in Tallinn, Estonia stocked a great range of Christmas fabrics and I have 2/3 of a metre of one of them for one lucky winner.
The Giveaway is for 0.75m of the Christmas fabric which is a linen/cotton blend with stamped reindeer and Santa images. The fabric is 150cm wide. In addition I have 0.5m of Adoring by Sandy Gervais quilting cotton and 3 die-cut felt Reindeer.

Giveaway now closed. A huge thank you to everyone who entered, it was fun reading about the handmade presents that you would like to find under the tree. Details of the lucky winner as below.

I have used similar fabrics to make these Christmas Stockings, and if you wish to do the same you will have enough of the linen/cotton blend to make 2 Stockings.

    I'd love to get a homemade quilt too. If I get to be picky, I want it to be something that is appliqued or English paper pieced since I don't do either of those.

    Those fabrics are so cute. I am the only hand maker in my whole extended family these days so I would like to see some handmade gifts from me under the tree, maybe some knitted hats to the various kids and nieces and nephews.

    Wow, that fabric is fantastic! As to hand made gifts under the tree....it doesn't usually happen that way. I am the one making. I could make myself a gift.....hmmm. However, one of my brothers is a commercial photographer. I would love to receive one of his pictures as a gift.

    What a great Christmas time giveaway :) Hand made gifts I would love would include jewellery, food-stuff, knitted socks, slippers or wash clothes, a jumper (my grandmother used to knit us jumpers and cardigans when we were young. I never appreciated that enough), a quilt, clothes, bags, maybe tabletop goodies (table cloth, table runner, placemats, coasters, serviettes, etc), and lots of other things I can't think of right now. There are too many good handmade gifts to choose just one :)

    I would love to see another homemade crocheted hat under the tree. My niece made us each hats a few years ago and mine has been worn nearly constantly over every winter and is getting a bit slack and out of shape. I've been hinting, but she's a busy girl now, so we'll see....

    OMG, that fabric is adorable!!! I would love to receive a handmade bag. Noone in my family sews though. I am the only bag maker so I do have a lot of handmade bags but it would be cool to get one someone else made.

    Oh my goodness - it would be such a treat to receive a handmade gift under the tree that wasn't sewn by me! None of my friends know how to sew, but a few know how to crochet and I would totally love to have some of those cute amigurumi dolls.

    I have a friend who makes end table with old tractor/factory gears and glass tops. I would so love to find one under the tree.
